MISPLACED HOPE - Palm Sunday

As Jesus and his disciples headed toward Jerusalem for Passover, they were filled with excitement and hope. Finally, it felt like everything was beginning to fall into place. What would happen to these disciples over the course of the next shake them to their core. They would be forced to confront the brutal truth that their hope had been rooted in the wrong things, that their understanding of Jesus and his Kingdom was tragically wrong. It's good for us, on the day we celebrate Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, to look at our own lives, to honestly examine where our hope has been rooted, and to lay down our hopes and expectations in order to pick up the cross of Christ and his Kingdom.
